Personality and competency, not resumes
The so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution is upon us. Disruptive changes to businesses, job markets, behavioral norms and skills are accelerating and deepening their impact on performance. How can we anticipate which skills are critical to the future? One widely quoted study suggests that 65% of students entering primary school will be working in occupations (with related skills) that don’t exist today. With more than half of all new hires being dismissed or departing within 18 months owing to social conflicts within companies and teams, an emphasis on hard skills to find workers and increase employee tenure and productivity seems misplaced. But there is more. As cognitive automation and AI render many of these hard skills useless, the need for companies to use multiple assessments of workers’ existing skills as well as soft skills, psychometric and cognitive abilities—all part of candidate’s permanent DNA and not subject to change or erasure—is more critical than ever. Use smarter data to capture talent
Big Data is efficient, but is it intelligent? The average time spent by recruiters looking at a resume is 5 to 7 seconds. An estimated 53 percent of resumes and job applications contain falsifications. On average 250 resumes are received for each corporate job opening with the first resume received within 200 seconds after a position is posted. By identifying the key behavioral, cognitive, and personality traits that are often difficult to capture from a resume, our assessment audits of talent and enterprises can support hiring decisions, locate high potential candidates and determine how to best fit specific individuals into specific enterprises. Enhance corporate culture with the right fit
Culture matters, but what defines it? Industrial and Organizational psychologists have long profiled work contexts and the concept of “culture” as carrying implicit values, beliefs and assumptions that are crucial to employee behavior, productivity and motivation. Yet a recent survey at Rockefeller Foundation found that employers tend to use college resumes as a hiring proxy even though they believe cultural fit is more vital to their HR success. We are taking a different approach. We think that creating a unique set of corporate and workplace measures that productively match against the psychometric profiles of talent will yield significant value.
